Jared MAY is a dedicated public servant, a retired professional, and a proud veteran who has called Dumas home for more than 40 years. A devoted husband of 46 years, father, and grandfather, May’s commitment to the future of Dumas is personal. With a proven track record on the City Council and a deep-seated commitment to faith and family, he is running for Mayor to ensure Dumas remains a place of opportunity, safety, and growth for every resident.

● Infrastructure & Housing: Modernizing our streets and utilities while expanding affordable housing options.
● Economic Empowerment: Supporting the Dumas Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to create jobs and keep our economy local. In 1994 - 1995 co-chaired with the late Charlotte Schexnayder, State Representative on the Desha County Empowerment Zone Application.
● Unity: Fostering a "connected and informed" community where every voice—from our students to our seniors—is heard and valued.
Rooted in Faith and Community
May’s heart for Dumas is best seen through his community outreach. As the Founder of Tabernacle of Faith Ministries and a Board Member of the Delta Area Community Foundation (DACF), he has spent years mentoring youth and supporting families in need. A graduate of UAPB with a Doctorate in Theology, he blends academic excellence with a compassionate, "people-first" approach to leadership.
